AYER – The aroma of warm beverages and baked goods in the air and a plethora of plants decorating the quaint space filled with local products makes for a warm and cozy atmosphere at Pinard's Florist Gifts & Coffee Cafe.

The 120 Central Ave. spot is family run, with Lisa Richard managing the day-to-day operations of the small business with her brothers Mark and Jim Pinard. The family's landscaping business in 1984 and the Flower shop opened in 1991. The siblings were raised in town and Richard still calls it home. 

She has been involved with the florist aspect since Pinard’s was launched 34 years ago and really enjoys interacting with their customers while providing decorative planning for weddings, funerals, holidays, and beyond. 

“What I love about my job is meeting people and creating floral pieces that make them happy,” Richard said. “We strive for providing great service to our customers and can fulfill an order for any special occasion from births, birthdays, anniversaries, sympathy, or any occasion. Flowers say everything without saying anything.”

Roses, Gerber daisies, and carnations in a myriad of different colors along with lilies, baby’s breath, snapdragons and greens, to name just a few of the options available for bouquets and arrangements. They are happy to create custom floral compositions that match what you are looking for, whether that is traditional, modern, romantic, unusual, and what not.

Pinard’s offers delivery to many cities and towns in the region including Acton, Ayer, Devens, Groton, Harvard, Littleton, Shirley, and more, and they also offer daily delivery service to all local funeral homes and hospitals.

The addition of a coffee shop was the idea of Richard’s late sister-in-law Kassie. They serve hot and iced Red Barn Coffee Roasters coffee, an Upton based fellow small business who roasts small-batch specialty coffees, and you can purchase their coffee to take home to brew yourself. 

They also offer teas, hot cocoa, a delicious selection of muffins, cinnamon rolls, and bagels along with seating and an inventory of greeting cards, candles, lotions and bath products, chocolates, and a whole lot more. All in all, it makes for great place to enjoy a drink and soak in the lovely ambiance of the place. 

“It's nice to relax and enjoy a coffee amongst flowers,” Richard said. “Who doesn't like coffee and flowers?”
