ArtNashoba is back

GROTON/AYER: After months waiting, we at ArtsNashoba are SOOOOOO very happy to announce our 2021-22 season of productions! We've got some very fun and new things planned, as well as some "old" but soon to be refurbished things as well!

Starting immediately, our Fall production will be ArtsNashoba's "Classic Tales Radio Hour" - 4 short play readings performed in radio play format. What does that mean? It means actors will be reading, in character, acting out (most likely multiple) roles at stage microphones while other "foleys" will be contributing live sound effects to help create the atmosphere of the plays. Included in the titles are "Treasure Island," "Mad Tea Party," "Stone Soup" and "Jack & the Beanstalk." Much character work will be done during this project with Director JulieAnn Govang, as well as extensive creative thinking when devising all of the sound effects. Cast members can act AND be on the sound team, or select to do just one or the other.

REHEARSALS: Tuesdays & Fridays, 4pm-6pm, starting 9/28/21 LOCATION: UCC/Groton, 220 Main St, Groton, MA TUITION: $125; $100 for siblings PERFORMANCES: November 12 & 13, 2021, Great Hall, Ayer Town Hall INFO: JulieAnn@artsnashoba.org

Opening registrations in early December will be a 'reboot' of "Seussical, the Musical" by Lynn Ahrens & Stephen Flaherty, the team who have lovingly brought to life all of our favorite Dr. Seuss characters, including Horton the Elephant, The Cat in the Hat, Gertrude McFuzz, lazy Mayzie and a little boy with a big imagination – Jojo. "Oh, the thinks you can think" when Dr. Seuss' best-loved stories collide and cavort in an unforgettable musical caper! Canceled just ONE WEEK before opening in 2020, ArtsNashoba is revisiting this fully-staged production with fresh eyes, starting anew with new plans and a new Directorial Team including Kathleen MacKenzie and music director Scott Cruikshank.

REHEARSALS: Tuesdays, Fridays & Saturdays (to be confirmed later this year) LOCATION: UCC/Groton, 220 Main St, Groton, MA TUITION: $295; $275 for siblings PERFORMANCES: March 25, 26 & 27, 2022 at Lawrence Academy, Groton INFO: info@artsnashoba.org; kmckenzie360@gmail.com

Theater is alive and coming back with a vengeance, thank heavens. Please note that at ArtsNashoba, SAFETY ALWAYS COMES FIRST! ArtsNashoba will follow Covid-19 safety protocols determined by current CDC guidelines.
